What is the scope of Sports Outreach ?

Partnership camps, Sports Clinics, Sports Camps, Mini-Camps, Leadership Camps, Retreat & Camp Scholarships, Seminars, Team Devotions, Bible Study groups.

Distribution projects: Path to Victory New Testaments to School, Rec.& Club teams. Bibles to athletes and coaches. Sports Spectrum Magazine – inspiring sports stories for everyone.


Large Group Meetings at Schools, Sports Councils (Students – at school and citywide)

Church Speaking, Banquets, Men’s Groups, Sunday Sermons, Athletes in churches.

Who do we work with through the year ? 

UNC-Asheville Teams and Coaching staff – Bible Studies and Team Devotions.
Western Carolina University - Football Team Chaplain 
A.C. Reynolds High School – Team Devotions and Monday Night Group Meeting.
Asheville High School – Morning Group Meeting. Football Mini-Camp.
T.C. Roberson High School – Team Devotions. 

Executive Director

Jack Brinkley has been doing sports ministry for over 20 years. He is excited about our campus based Sports Outreach ministry. SO is a discipleship ministry, emphasizing a “1-on-1” approach! It is designed to meet the spiritual, physical, emotional, and athletic needs of local student-athletes and coaches through Jack Brinkley’s leadership. Jack was a 4 sport letterman in high school, a 2 year football letterman at Western Carolina University, coached 3 years in High School and 6 years in college at University of West Georgia and Valdosta State University, including 5 years as a Strength Coach. Jack was also the Defensive Coordinator of the 1982 NCAA Division III National Championship UWG football team. He knows the athletic arena. Jack was inducted into the A.C. Reynolds Athletic Hall of Fame in April 2005.

2011 Sports Outreach Golf Tournament will be on Friday, May 13th at Broadmoor Golf Links - “Captain’s Choice” – Double Shotgun – 8:00am & 1:30pm .
